I started traveling extensively in 2007, after a long career as a government office administrator.
In 2007/2008 I backpacked around SE Asia, spending 3 months in Thailand, and some time in Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bali, Malaysia and Singapore in 2007 and 2008. My introduction to Buddhism was an eye-opener.
In 2009 I spent a few weeks in Montreal and Quebec City in Canada. Exploring Canadian historical sites was interesting as I had only read about these places in school as a child.
In January 2010 I headed to India for a journey of 5 months, starting in the southeast, exploring sacred sites and ashrams from the west coast to the northern reaches of the Himalayas. Whether Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim or Christian I found the spiritually of the people fascinating.
In the spring of 2011 I traveled to England and Scotland, exploring the sacred sites of early Christianity and earlier Druids and Pagans. Following the book “Crossing to Avalon” A Woman’s Midlife Quest to the Sacred Feminine, brought me closer to my core beliefs.
Now, trying to integrate my love of travel, people and spirituality I am embarking on a new adventure.
Soulsister Tours has been in my mind for several years. To travel with a group of like minded women, those who are looking for more in their life, and seeking to understand what makes us compassionate, caring, and committed to making this world a better place.
I believe the Universe provides us with the experiences and the people that come into our lives to enrich us. If we are open to new challenges and live each day as if it’s our last, our journey on earth will be full and exciting. What we learn from other cultures shows us that we are all divine beings, with more similarities than differences, and we can be united with respect and compassion.
